Can’t wait for your new Mystery on Sherlock Homes with Shadwell Rafferty to come out. I have the entire series and have re-read them all. Great reads!!!
Rose: Thanks for your kind comments. My hope is that the new Rafferty will be out by next spring but it all depends on what kind of publishing deal I can work out. I’ll post more details as soon as I can.

Chris:
Thanks for you message. I’d love to see the plat book some time.
Larry
Hi, Mr. Millett,
Love your books, especially “Strange Days, Dangerous Nights.” Looking forward to reading the Rafferty book!
Ms. Ahern:
So happy to hear you have enjoyed my books, especially the “Dangerous Nights.”
Hi Mr. Millett,
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading your Sherlock Holmes mystery books and how excited I am that you have a new one coming out soon. After “The Disappearance of Sherlock Holmes” I wondered when your next book would come out and kept searching at Barnes and Noble and on the web. Any idea when the new Shadwell Rafferty/Sherlock Holmes book will be out in stores? I am greatly looking forward to reading it.
Steve:
Thanks very much for your message. I’m still trying to line up a publisher, so it looks like it will be sometime next year at the earliest. I’ll post publishing info as soon as I have it.
Larry
Hi Larry, I know you said you would post any news on your new Shadwell Rafferty/Sherlock Holmes book so I am still waiting. I love your series on Sherlock Holmes as you have done us Sherlockian lovers the pleasure of having him not so mechanical in his heart but have given him a heart with the same cunning skill that has marked him as the world’s best detective. Thanks for that! So I will continue to wait patiently for the new book.
Hi, Mr. Millett,
I don’t think Robert Downey, Jr., should play Sherlock when your books are made into major motion pictures. I actually would like to see Jude Law as Holmes. Have you thought of sending your series to Guy Ritchie?
Rose:
Thanks very much for your message. Sorry it’s taken so long to get back to you; I had some website problems that threw me for a bit of a loop and then the site went down for awhile. In any event, three is good news on the Rafferty/Holmes front. The University of Minnesota Press will publish my new mystery, “The Miracle Murder,” and will also reissue all five of the old Sherlocks in new editions over the next several years. I’m hoping the “The Miracle Murder” will be out this fall, but it looks like sometime in 2011 may be more likely. I’ll post word as soon as I find out ehn the book is coming out.
Jodie:
I have thought of sending one of my Sherlock to Mr. Ritchie. Do you happen to know his address?
Mr Millett, Thanks for the entertaining and educational books. I grew up in MN but have spent the last 40 years here in TN. I enjoyed all of the Sherlock series especially the Red Demon. I had always heard of the great Hinckley fire but had never read anything about it. As part of an Art Appreciation class in highschool I visited the famous Owatonna Bank. I’m hoping my local library can track down a loaner copy of your book.
I’ll definetly keep watching for the release of your next book.
Dick:
Thanks very much for your message. Happy to hear I have a reader in Tennessee and that you enjoyed the Red Demon and my other Sherlockian tales. Just within the past few weeks I found a publisher for my new novel, The Miracle Murder. The University of Minnesota Press will come out with the book in the spring of 2011, so look for it then. The U of M Press will also be publishing my five previous Sherlocks in new editions. As for my book about the Owatonna bank (it’s called The Curve of the Arch) I would think your library should be able to dig up a copy. The book in out of print but many libraries have it. Unfortunately, used copies have become fairly expensive but there are usually a few available on line through Amazon or other book sellers.
Regards,
Larry Millett
Louise:
Spring 2011 is now the release date for “The Miracle Murder,” which will be my first locked-room mystery and will feature Shadwell Rafferty as well as a brief appearance by Sherlock Holmes. I wish the book could come out sooner, but I’m happy that I found a publisher–the University of Minnesota Press. The press also plans to reissue all of the earlier Sherlocks in new trade paperback editions.
Regards,
Larry
